Collection: Dome Nuts

A dome nut - also known as an acorn nut or cap nut - covers the protruding thread of a bolt with a rounded cap, providing a clean, safe, and aesthetically finished terminal point for threaded assemblies. At the DIY Hardware Store, our dome nuts are available in the metric sizes most commonly used in furniture, cabinetry, outdoor structures, and anywhere a neat, finished nut is preferred over an exposed hex nut.

The primary functions of a dome nut are to protect the exposed thread end from corrosion and damage, to prevent the thread from presenting a snagging or injury hazard in accessible locations, and to provide a more visually appealing terminal than a standard hex nut. They're used on furniture bolt connections, the back of display fixtures, exposed bolt ends on gates and garden structures, and wherever the nut is visible as part of the finished appearance. Available in zinc-plated steel and stainless steel, in metric sizes from M4 to M10.
