Light Pendants & Lampholders

The lampholder is the electrical fitting that connects a light bulb to the mains supply - and choosing the right type for the installation determines compatibility with the bulb, the shade, and the wiring arrangement. At the DIY Hardware Store, our light pendants and lampholders range covers the standard ES (E27), SES (E14), BC (B22), GU10, and MES (E10) holders used in domestic lighting installations across the UK.

Pendant lampholders with a loop or cord grip are the standard fitting for suspended light bulbs and shade rings, allowing a fabric or plastic shade to be attached via a shade ring reducer or lampholder ring. Batten lampholders mount directly to a ceiling or wall surface, replacing a pendant where a flush or semi-flush fitting is required. GU10 holders are used in recessed spotlights and surface-mounted spot fittings, and are available in both fixed and adjustable fire-rated versions for installation in ceiling voids.

All lampholders at the DIY Hardware Store are rated for standard mains voltage use. Shade ring reducer accessories allow mismatched shade ring diameters to be fitted to standard lamp holders.
