Collection: Dry Wall Screws

Drywall screws are the fastener of choice for fixing plasterboard to timber stud work and metal framing systems in partition wall and ceiling construction. At the DIY Hardware Store, our drywall screws range covers the bugle-head, fine-thread, and coarse-thread types used across standard plasterboard installation in domestic and commercial drylining projects.

The bugle head profile of a drywall screw is engineered to drive just below the surface of the plasterboard - breaking the paper face without tearing it, leaving a small dimple that's filled and finished as part of the jointing process. Fine-thread drywall screws are the correct specification for fixing to metal framing systems. Coarse-thread versions suit timber stud work. Length selection depends on the plasterboard thickness and the required penetration depth into the stud - a minimum 10mm into the stud is the general recommendation for a secure fixing.

  • Bugle head sets just below plasterboard surface - no tearing
  • Fine thread for metal framing systems
  • Coarse thread for timber stud work
  • Lengths to suit standard 9.5mm, 12.5mm, and 15mm plasterboard
  • Minimum 10mm penetration into stud for secure fixing
  • Suitable for domestic and commercial drylining projects
