Collection: Galvanised Staples

From stretching wire fencing across a field to fixing trellis to garden posts, galvanised staples are the most efficient way to attach wire, mesh, and netting to timber in outdoor applications. At the DIY Hardware Store, our galvanised staples are available in the sizes used for agricultural fencing, garden trellis, chicken wire, stock fencing, and wire netting installation.

The U-shaped form of a staple allows it to be driven over a wire or strand and into the post simultaneously, creating a fixing that holds the wire to the post at the point of contact and prevents it from slipping or working loose. The correct depth is important: driven too deep, the staple can cut into the wire under tension loading; too shallow and the wire can be levered free. Galvanising is essential for outdoor staples - ungalvanised versions will rust rapidly in garden conditions, staining the timber and weakening over time.
