Collection: Frame Fixings

Fixing a door frame, window frame, or structural timber section to a masonry wall requires a longer, heavier fixing than a standard wall plug - one that passes through the full thickness of the timber section and anchors deep into the masonry behind it. At the DIY Hardware Store, our frame fixings range covers the nylon sleeve and screw combinations used for this application in standard UK new build and renovation construction.

A frame fixing consists of a long nylon anchor sleeve and a matching screw, typically zinc-plated with a hex or Torx drive head. The sleeve is inserted through the pre-drilled hole in the timber frame and into the corresponding masonry hole, and the screw is driven through the sleeve to expand and lock it into the masonry. The fixing clamping force draws the frame tight against the masonry, and the sleeve bridges any gap between the frame and wall caused by inconsistent surfaces. Available in standard lengths for fixing through softwood section thicknesses of 34mm, 60mm, and 90mm at the DIY Hardware Store.
