Drivas (also known as drive anchors or plastic drive anchors) are a direct-drive fixing system that eliminates the need for a separate wall plug by combining the anchor and fixing into a single component. At the DIY Hardware Store, drivas are available for the masonry, brick, and concrete fixing applications where speed and simplicity are the priority.
A driva is driven directly into a pre-drilled hole with a hammer and then has a screw driven into it - or in some designs, the driva and screw are driven simultaneously in a single hammer action. The expanding anchor locks into the masonry as the screw engages, providing a clean, positive fixing without the intermediate step of inserting and repositioning a separate wall plug. They're particularly well suited to fixing into lightweight concrete blocks, aerated concrete, and soft masonry where a standard plastic plug may spin or pull out.
