Roofing Bolts & Nuts

A roofing bolt is a round-head bolt with a short, domed head designed specifically for use in roofing and cladding applications where a low-profile, non-snagging fixing is needed on the outer face of the material. At the DIY Hardware Store, our zinc-plated roofing bolts and nuts are available in the sizes used for fastening ridge tiles, securing roof battens, connecting cladding panels, and general external fastening applications where a protruding drive recess could create a water ingress point.

The smooth, domed head of a roofing bolt presents no drive recess to collect water, reducing the risk of corrosion initiation at the fixing point. The square neck below the head bites into timber or panel materials to prevent rotation during nut tightening, in the same way as a cup square (coach) bolt. Used with the matching zinc-plated square nut and a washer on the inside face, roofing bolts provide a secure, weather-resistant through-fixing for external cladding, ridge tile clips, and general outdoor panel connections.
