Collection: Plastic Plugs

The humble plastic wall plug is one of the most used fixings in any DIY toolkit - the simple expansion device that converts a masonry hole into a grippy, threaded socket for a wood screw. At the DIY Hardware Store, our plastic plugs range covers the standard red, brown, yellow, and blue colour-coded plugs used for fixing into brick, concrete, block, and dense plaster across the full range of domestic fixing applications.

Wall plug selection is straightforward once you understand the colour coding system that matches plug size to screw gauge and drill diameter. The most commonly used sizes are red (for 3.5-4mm screws, 6mm hole), brown (5-6mm screws, 7mm hole), yellow (4-4.5mm screws, 5mm hole), and blue (7-8mm screws, 10mm hole). All-purpose plugs in ribbed nylon provide good performance across a range of masonry types, and are the correct choice for fixing into hollow or lower-density block where the standard expansion plug may pull through.

Available in individual sizes and mixed-size packs at the DIY Hardware Store, in quantities from small packs for a single job through to larger tubs for trade and building use.
