Collection: Hasps & Staples

A hasp and staple is the most direct mechanical solution for padlocking a door, gate, shed, or outbuilding - it provides the staple loop through which a padlock shackle passes, combined with the hasp plate that folds down to close the gap. At the DIY Hardware Store, our hasps and staples cover the standard and security-enhanced versions used across domestic and agricultural settings.

The standard hasp and staple set consists of a hinged hasp and a fixed staple. When the hasp is folded down and the padlock is closed through the staple, the screws fixing both components to the door and frame are concealed under the closed hasp and padlock, making them inaccessible to a would-be intruder without first removing the padlock. Security-rated hasps and staples use concealed fixings as standard, with hardened steel construction and locking staple designs that resist cutting and forcing. Available in zinc-plated, galvanised, and stainless steel finishes at the DIY Hardware Store.
