About our Tee Hinges range
The tee hinge (or T-hinge) is the classic surface-mounted hinge with a long strap arm on one leaf and a short rectangular plate on the other, creating a T-shape when open. At the DIY Hardware Store, our tee hinges cover the light and heavy formats used on shed doors, garden gates, garage doors, ledged timber doors, and any application where a robust surface-mounted hinge is the correct and practical specification.
The long strap arm of a tee hinge distributes the hanging load of a heavy door along a ledge or rail, in the same way as a strap hinge - the difference is the short square-plate opposite leaf that makes it more compact and easier to fit where space on the frame is limited. Light tee hinges suit small shed doors and cabinet hatches; heavy pressed or cast versions carry the substantial loads of large garage doors and agricultural gate panels.
Available in self-colour, galvanised, and black painted finishes at the DIY Hardware Store in sizes from 150mm through to 450mm for the full range of domestic and agricultural applications. Sold in pairs.
