Collection: Countersunk Machine Screws

Countersunk machine screws are the standard fastener for bolted connections where the fixing needs to sit flush with or below the surface being joined. At the DIY Hardware Store, our countersunk machine screws range covers the metric sizes most commonly used in engineering, fabrication, electronics assembly, and general mechanical applications.

Unlike a woodscrew, a machine screw has a fully parallel, uniform thread that mates with a nut, a threaded insert, or a tapped hole. The countersunk (flat) head has an 82-90 degree angle that draws down into a matching countersunk recess, finishing flush with the material surface. This makes them the preferred fastener for panels, covers, brackets, and any application where a protruding head would be problematic.

Available in zinc-plated steel and stainless steel, in Pozi, Phillips, and slot drive head recesses, and in the metric thread sizes from M3 to M10 most commonly needed in domestic and light commercial engineering contexts.
