Collection: Polytop Nails & Pins

Polytop nails and pins are the plastic-headed nails used for fixing roofing felts, building wraps, insulation boards, and plastic sheeting to timber substrates where a standard nail head would either pull through the membrane or create a fixing point that compromises the weather resistance of the material being fixed. At the DIY Hardware Store, our polytop nails cover the sizes used in standard domestic roofing and insulation board fixing applications.

The large, flat plastic cap provides a bearing area far greater than a standard nail head, distributing the holding force across a wide area of the material surface and preventing pull-through even in thin, flexible membranes. The cap also forms a seal around the nail shank where it penetrates the material, reducing the risk of water ingress at each fixing point - important in roofing applications where every penetration is a potential leak path.

Available in the standard sizes for roofing membrane, building wrap, and insulation board fixing at the DIY Hardware Store.
