Collection: Spring Hooks

Buyer's Guide

About our Spring Hooks range

A spring hook - also called a snap hook or carabiner-style clip hook - is a hook with a spring-loaded gate that opens to accept a ring, link, or bar and springs closed to retain the connection securely. At the DIY Hardware Store, our spring hooks cover the bolt-snap, swivel-snap, and trigger-snap types used for dog leads, harness connections, luggage attachments, rigging, and general quick-release connecting applications.

The spring-loaded gate provides the security of a closed connection without the need to screw or lock the gate - the spring keeps the hook closed until deliberate thumb pressure opens it. This makes spring hooks the practical choice for any application where connections need to be made and released quickly and repeatedly, such as dog lead attachments, harness clips, cargo net fixings, and tarpaulin tie-downs. For higher-load or safety-critical applications, a locking karabiner or screw-gate hook is the appropriate specification.
