Thunderbolt Anchors

The Thunderbolt anchor is a high-performance concrete screw anchor that threads directly into a pre-drilled concrete hole without an expansion sleeve - the hardened screw thread cuts into the concrete substrate and develops extremely high pull-out resistance in a single installation step. At the DIY Hardware Store, our Thunderbolt concrete anchors are available for the structural fixing applications in concrete where speed of installation combined with high load performance is the priority.

Unlike expansion anchors that require a hole diameter precisely matched to the anchor diameter, the Thunderbolt screw creates its own thread in the concrete as it's driven, tolerating slight variations in hole diameter and concrete quality that would compromise a conventional expansion anchor. The screw can be removed and re-driven multiple times without significant loss of holding strength, making the fixing point reusable for maintenance applications - a significant advantage over single-use expansion anchors.
