Collection: Gate Hooks

A gate hook is the male half of the classic hook-and-eye gate hinge - the fixed pivot point screwed into the gate post that the gate eye rests on and rotates around. At the DIY Hardware Store, our gate hooks are available in the sizes and formats used for garden gates, field gates, and any hinged panel that uses the traditional hook-and-band or hook-and-eye hanging system.

Gate hooks are available in screw-in and coach bolt formats: screw-in hooks are suitable for timber posts and are quick to install; coach bolt and nut types provide a through-fixing for gate posts where maximum pull-out resistance is needed under a heavy or frequently used gate. Adjustable gate hooks allow the hanging position to be corrected after installation - particularly useful for wooden gates that shift with seasonal moisture changes. The hook diameter and length must be matched to the weight of the gate being hung and to the compatible eye size.
