Collection: Flat Corner Plates

A flat corner plate is the simplest possible reinforcement for a flat timber joint - an L-shaped metal plate that spans a right-angle corner and is fixed with screws to both pieces, adding mechanical strength to what would otherwise be a glue-and-nail connection. At the DIY Hardware Store, our flat corner plates cover the sizes used in furniture repair, light framing, garden structure assembly, and general joinery reinforcement.

Unlike an angle bracket (which has two faces bent at 90 degrees to form a three-dimensional L), a flat corner plate lies entirely in one plane, making it suitable for reinforcing corner joints where both pieces of timber are in the same surface - the corners of a flat frame, the back corners of a cabinet base, or the junction of two boards in a flat panel. Available in zinc-plated steel for internal use and galvanised steel for outdoor applications. Multiple sizes from small light-duty through to heavy framing plates are available at the DIY Hardware Store.
