Collection: Vine Eyes

Vine eyes are the wall-fixing screw eyes used to create anchor points for horizontal or diagonal wire training systems on garden walls, allowing climbing plants, espalier fruit trees, roses, and wall shrubs to be trained across the wall surface in a controlled pattern. At the DIY Hardware Store, our vine eyes are available in screw-in and drive-in formats for both mortar joint and masonry fixing applications.

A complete wall wire training system uses a grid of vine eyes spaced at regular intervals across the wall, with straining wire threaded through or tied to each eye to create the horizontal or diagonal wires that the plants are tied into as they grow. The vine eye's screw or drive shaft anchors it firmly in the mortar joint or masonry, and the projecting eye holds the wire away from the wall surface - giving plants room to breathe, reducing the risk of fungal disease in the foliage, and allowing air to circulate between the plant and the wall surface.

Available in zinc-plated steel at the DIY Hardware Store in screw-in and drive-in formats for masonry and mortar joint installation.
