Collection: Rim Deadlocks & Rim Sashlocks

A rim lock is a surface-mounted lock fitted to the face of the door rather than morticed into the door edge - the original type of door lock, and still the correct solution for thin doors, period properties, and situations where cutting a mortice pocket would compromise the door's structure. At the DIY Hardware Store, our rim deadlocks, rim sashlocks, and rim latches cover the standard formats used in residential and commercial applications where a surface-mounted lock is the appropriate specification.

A rim deadlock provides key-operated deadbolt security on the door face, with the bolt shooting into a surface-mounted striking box on the door frame. A rim sashlock combines a spring latch with a deadbolt on the same body, providing both self-closing convenience and key-operated security in a single surface-mounted fitting. A rim latch provides spring latch action only, without a deadbolt, for applications where security locking is handled separately.

Available in standard case sizes in satin chrome and brass finishes at the DIY Hardware Store, for standard UK timber door thicknesses.
