Steel Double Cranked Hinges

A double cranked hinge is a specialist cabinet hinge where both leaves are bent (cranked) at 90 degrees in the same direction, creating an offset geometry that allows an inset door to be hung with the hinge mounted on the face of the carcass rather than in the traditional inset mortice position. The double crank allows the hinge to bridge the step between the cabinet frame face and the door face when the door is set inset within the opening - without this crank, a standard flat hinge would require the door to be surface-mounted or the hinge to be let into the carcass edge. The double cranked version simplifies installation by allowing the hinge to be surface-screwed to both the door and the carcass without any rebating or recessing.
