Collection: Cut Clasp Nails

The cut clasp nail is one of the oldest nail designs still in common use, and it's survived because it does something a wire nail cannot: it holds in masonry as well as timber, without a wall plug. At the DIY Hardware Store, our cut clasp nails are available for the flooring, skirting, and masonry fixing applications where this traditional nail type remains the most practical solution.

Cut from flat steel stock rather than drawn from round wire, the clasp nail has a tapered, rectangular cross-section with a flat head. Driven into soft masonry or mortar joints, the taper wedges into the substrate and holds with significant resistance - making them the traditional fixing for skirting boards to plaster walls, for securing timber battens to brick, and for fastening floorboards directly to masonry substrates in older construction.
